Agreement
These terms are between you and Ron Sandel, the individual developer who makes Shardz TCG ("we"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them, to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement and to our Privacy Policy.
What Shardz does
Shardz recognizes Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and One Piece cards with your camera, shows their prices, and helps you keep track of your collection, goals and trades.
Card recognition isn't perfect. Look-alike printings can be mixed up, so check that the card shown is the one you have, especially before you buy, sell or trade.
Prices are estimates, not financial advice
Prices in Shardz come from third-party market data:
- TCGplayer market prices, provided by JustTCG.
- Graded prices from JustTCG (TCGplayer market data).
- Cardmarket trends where TCGplayer has no price.
Prices in other currencies are converted from US dollars with the day's exchange rate, for display only.
These numbers are estimates. They can be out of date, incomplete or wrong, and a real card's value depends on its condition and the buyer. They're not financial, investment, insurance or tax advice. Don't rely on them alone when you buy, sell, trade or insure cards.
Free and Pro
Shardz is free to use, with limits: 20 scans a day, 2 folders, 1 tracked set and 3 price alerts. Search, prices, your whole collection, backups and the trade calculator are free.
Shardz Pro adds:
- Unlimited scans, and scanning several cards at once.
- Graded prices (PSA, BGS, CGC).
- Vendor mode.
- Spreadsheet export, every share style, and biggest gainers and losers.
- Unlimited folders, price alerts and tracked sets.
We may improve or change features over time. If we remove something Pro includes, we'll say so in the app first.
Subscriptions and the free trial

Prices outside the US are set by Apple in your local currency and shown before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase. If you start a free trial, the charge is at the end of the trial.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the same price.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings after purchase (Settings › your name › Subscriptions).
- The free trial is for new subscribers and can be used once. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Canceling stops the next renewal. Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.
Apple handles payments and refunds. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
Using Shardz fairly
Please don't:
- Use our server outside the app, or overload it.
- Copy, scrape or resell the price data.
- Try to get around Pro, the free limits or the app's security.
- Use Shardz for anything illegal or to mislead other people, for example in a trade.
Your content
Your collection, notes, Collector ID and photos are yours and stay on your phone. When you share an image or your Collector ID, you're responsible for what's in it and who you share it with.
Cards, names and other people's rights
Shardz TCG is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Wizards of the Coast or Bandai. Card names, images and card backs are trademarks or copyright of their owners and are shown to identify the cards.
Shardz is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy. Not approved/endorsed by Wizards. Portions of the materials used are property of Wizards of the Coast. ©Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Card data and pictures come from public sources credited in the app under Profile › Data › About the data. These include TCGdex (MIT licence) and Scryfall, which isn't affiliated with Shardz and doesn't endorse it.
Shop links
"Buy" buttons open TCGplayer, Cardmarket and eBay. The TCGplayer and eBay links are partner links: we may earn a small commission, and it never changes your price. Shops are always sorted by price, never by what we earn. Purchases there are between you and the shop.
No guarantees
Shardz is provided "as is". We work to keep it accurate and running, but we don't promise that it will be error-free, always available, or that card identifications and prices are correct.
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses from using the app or relying on its information, such as a trade or sale based on a price shown. This doesn't limit rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. If the app fails to meet a warranty, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation.
Changes and governing law
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also say so in the app. Using Shardz after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA. This doesn't take away consumer protections you have under the law of the country you live in.
